Kai delivered her puppies on April 21 very early in the morning. She was carrying 7, but 2 were still born. Of the living 5 there are 4 girls (Pink, Peach, Purple, & Violet) and 1 boy (Blue) all which are brindle. They are all beautiful and healthy. Kai did a great job delivering them and is a extremely attentive parent never leaving there side for more than a few minutes to go potty, drink water, or eat. My daugthers and I monitor Kai and the pups closely in the house ensuring Kai don't accidently hurt or kill a puppy by laying on it, stepping on it, etc...The litter is progressing well. I refer to Violet and Pink as the twins because they're about the same size and colors (fawn/brindle) & always seem to be together. Yesterday, Violet's eyes began opening. Anytime now the others will to. Their ears are still closed until around 21 days. Right now they have a great sense of smell and feel warmth/coolness. I use a q-tip and/or my fingers to rub through the pads of their paws so they are use to them being handled. They are trying to walk, but wobble instead as they're not quite ready yet. One of the girls- Peach, is very vocal and lets out little barks every now and then. Purple was the last one born and is a little smaller than the rest, which doesn't mean anything as the littlest in our last litter grew to be the 2nd biggest by the time she went to her new home. The girls and I pet the puppies throughout the day so they're very familiar with each of us and sometimes Kai takes our hand by her mouth moving it to her letting us now she wants attention too (its really cute).
