The puppies....

....are getting big!  At 10 wks old they are very active and are now taking full advantage of most of the yard.  We've been outdoors a lot lately taking care of various things and getting our pool ready to be filled.  For some reason their favorite thing to do is pull on my gloves while I'm weeding.  Since Saturday the heat and humidity has been back.  Today it's expected to reach 101, so they're in the shade a lot and when we're inside so are they.  Of course coming into the air condition house puts them right out.  I think their second favorite thing to do is play with our cat, especially when he goes outside with them.  Thankfully he is deaf and their barks don't scare or annoy him.  Honestly, I think its why he doesn't mind the pups or our mastiffs.  We're still having accidents with potty training (we sterning tell them NO and directly take them outside and say Potty), but its going as well as hoped for.  They're really learning to associate the word potty to actually going potty when we take them out, almost on command.  There are signs that they all have (probably all breeds are this way), which is becoming antsy and sniffing the floor usually means #1, when they start circling usually means #2.

Kai still permits the pups to nurse, but its more like a quick snack/drink.  She doesn't tolerate it for too long and that's probably due to their little razor teeth.  We've been feeding them 3 times a day about 1 1/2 to 2 cups each time.  Some days from being outside in the heat with us their appetites aren't the greatest, but for the days we're inside long period of times they eat great!  Back to the nursing thing, their dad, Deuce has a skin tag that resembles a nipple.  He has absolutely no feeling in it.  We had test done to make sure it wasn't cancerous this past Feburary because since a pup it has grown over time.  Tests were negative.  However, the pups thought it was a nipple and recently took turns trying to nurse on it.  Our daughters watched & called for us thinking it was funny since Deuce doesn't feel anything.  Obviously, we stopped it and are making sure it never happens again. Needless to say, he has an appointment July 15 to have it removed.  Poor Guy :(
